Adding pauses can help your AI avatar sound more natural and improve the pacing of your script. You can insert pauses anywhere in the text and control how long they last.

How to Add a Pause in AI Studios

Step 1: Click in the script

In the script box, place your cursor where you want the pause to appear in your voiceover.

Step 2: Find the clock icon

At the bottom of the script box, click the clock icon to open the pause tool.

Step 3: Insert the pause

Click the clock icon to insert a pause. A yellow box labeled 0.5 will appear in your script, representing a half-second pause.

Step 4: Adjust the duration

Click the yellow pause box to open the text input. You can change the value in 0.5-second increments (like 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, etc.). Once you’ve set the pause time, click Save to apply it.

Note: Avoid placing multiple pauses back-to-back. This may cause a 999 error when generating your video. Instead of adding several short pauses in a row, use one pause block and adjust it to the exact timing you need.

Step 5: Add more pauses

Repeat this process anywhere else in your script where you want the avatar to pause while speaking.

FAQ

Can I make pauses shorter than 0.5 seconds?
Not right now. Pauses can only be set in 0.5-second increments. Shorter pauses may be supported in a future update.
