Understanding Avatar Identity in AI Studios

You can add multiple Video Avatars and styles of the same person to a single Avatar Identity, giving you more avatar options without using additional Avatar Slots.

Add avatars with different outfits, backgrounds, or visual styles to the same identity and choose the one that best fits each project.

From the [Avatars] menu, select [+ Create My Avatar].

You can create an avatar using a photo or video.

Create a natural, moving Video Avatar by recording yourself or using an existing video or photo.

Created Video Avatars are managed within an Avatar Identity.

Upload a photo to quickly create a talking avatar.

Photo Avatars are useful when you want to create avatars in different visual styles without recording a video.

A single Avatar Identity can contain multiple Video Avatars of the same person.

For example, if you have videos of the same person wearing different outfits or in different backgrounds, you can upload them as separate Video Avatars and manage them together within the same Avatar Identity instead of creating a new identity for each one.

You can also add photos or videos to create new styles of the same person.

You can add new avatars or styles only to an Avatar Identity you own. If an Avatar Identity has been shared with you, you cannot add new avatars or styles to it. If you have edit permission, you can edit existing avatars and styles.

When you upload a photo or video as a style, AI Studios automatically checks whether the person matches the existing avatar.

The identity check may fail even when the same person is shown, for example when there are significant differences in face angle, lighting, image quality, face visibility, or appearance. If the check fails, the style will not be added.

Try again with another photo or video where the face is clearly visible from the front and the person's appearance is closer to the existing avatar.

If an Avatar Identity contains multiple avatars, you can choose a Default Avatar.

The Default Avatar is displayed as the primary avatar for that Avatar Identity.

To delete the current Default Avatar, first set another avatar as the Default Avatar.

The number of Video Avatar identities you can create depends on your plan and role.

Avatar Slots are counted by Avatar Identity containing a Video Avatar, not by the number of video files. This means adding multiple Video Avatars or Video Styles of the same person to one Avatar Identity still uses only one Avatar Slot.

Personal users can purchase additional Avatar Slots. On the Team plan, additional Avatar Slots are available to the Team Master.

Avatars shared with you do not use your Avatar Slots.

On the Team plan, you can share avatars you create with other members of your workspace.

Sharing is managed at the Avatar Identity level, rather than for individual avatars or styles. When an Avatar Identity is shared, the same permission applies to all avatars and styles within that identity.

Available actions depend on the sharing permission.

Only the owner of an Avatar Identity can add new avatars or styles, manage sharing permissions, or delete the Avatar Identity. Even with edit permission, users cannot add new avatars or styles to a shared Avatar Identity.

You can delete an entire Avatar Identity or individual avatars and styles within it.

Before deleting the Default Avatar, you must first set another avatar as the Default Avatar.

Deleting an Avatar Identity makes all avatars and styles within it unavailable. Make sure you no longer need them before deleting the identity.
