How to Add and Manage Avatar Styles

Avatar Styles let you add and manage different looks of the same person within a single Avatar Identity. Add photos or videos with different outfits, hairstyles, backgrounds, or settings, then choose the style that best fits each project.

1. What Is an Avatar Style?

An Avatar Style is a photo or video added to an Avatar Identity so you can manage different looks of the same person in one place.

You can add different outfits, hairstyles, backgrounds, or recording environments without creating a new Avatar Identity.

Styles must feature the same person as the existing Avatar Identity.

2. Generate a New Style

In an Avatar Identity you own, select [Add Style]. Generate is selected by default on the Add Style screen.

Describe the outfit, background, hairstyle, or other look you want to create. You can also add reference images to guide the result more precisely.

  • Describe the style you want with a prompt.

  • Add reference images to better define the desired look.

  • Choose your preferred result and add it to the Avatar Identity.

  • Generative Credits are used when generating a style.

You can only generate or add new styles to an Avatar Identity you own. You cannot add new styles to an Avatar Identity shared with you by another user.

3. Upload a Photo or Video as a Style

If you already have a photo or video you want to use, select [Upload] to add it as a style.

  • Photo: JPG, PNG, or WEBP · Up to 20MB

  • Video: At least 15 seconds · MP4, MOV, or WEBM · Up to 5GB

The person in the uploaded photo or video must be the same person as the existing Avatar Identity.

Upload Recommendations

For more accurate results, we recommend:

  • A photo or video containing only one person

  • A clearly visible face with a natural expression

  • A bright, clear image or video

Group photos or files containing multiple faces, exaggerated expressions or a widely open mouth, and blurry, dark, or distorted images or videos are not recommended.

Identity Check When Uploading a Style

When you upload a photo or video as a style, AI Studios automatically checks whether the person matches the existing avatar.

The identity check may fail even when the same person is shown. This can happen when:

  • The face angle or expression is significantly different

  • The face is covered or not clearly visible

  • The photo or video quality is low

  • Lighting or the recording environment makes the face look significantly different

  • The hairstyle or overall appearance differs significantly from the existing avatar

If the identity check fails, the style will not be added. Try again with another photo or video where the face is clearly visible from the front and the person's appearance is closer to the existing avatar.

4. Manage Added Styles

Styles added to an Avatar Identity can be viewed and managed together.

You can edit or delete existing styles as needed. If an Avatar Identity contains multiple avatars, you can also change the Default Avatar.

If you have Edit permission for a shared Avatar Identity, you can edit or delete existing styles, but you cannot add new styles.

5. Styles and Avatar Slots

Adding multiple photo or video styles to the same Avatar Identity does not create additional Avatar Identities.

Even if you add multiple Video Avatars or video styles of the same person to one Avatar Identity, only one Avatar Slot is used.

This lets you use a wider variety of outfits, backgrounds, and visual styles within the same Avatar Identity without using additional Avatar Slots.

FAQ

Can I add a photo or video of another person as a style?

No. All avatars and styles within an Avatar Identity must feature the same person.
