In this help doc

You choose how an avatar appears in each scene with the Framing menu of the video editor. This doc shows how to switch between Full Body, Circular, Rectangle, and Voice Only, apply the framing to every scene, and resize and move the avatar.

Change the framing

To change how the avatar appears:

  1. Click the avatar on the canvas. The toolbar above the canvas shows the avatar options.

  2. Click Framing.

  3. Choose an option. The avatar in the scene changes right away.

Opening Framing and switching between Circular, Rectangle, Voice Only, and Full Body

The Framing menu has these options:

  • Full Body: Shows the avatar as it was filmed. Full-body avatars appear from head to toe.

  • Circular: Shows the head and shoulders in a circle.

  • Rectangle: Shows the head and shoulders in a rectangle.

  • Voice Only: Hides the avatar and keeps only its voice. Use it for voiceovers.

Note: Framing applies only to the current scene. To use it in every scene, see the next section.

Apply the framing to every scene

To use the same setting in all scenes:

  1. With the avatar selected, click Apply All.

  2. Choose what to copy to every scene: Change All Models, Change All Frames, Change All Scale, or Change All Position.

Resize and move the avatar

To set an exact size or position:

  1. Click Scale and drag the Model Scale slider, or type a percentage.

  2. Click Position and enter X and Y under Model Position, or click one of the Position presets.

💡 Tip: You can also resize the avatar by dragging the handles of its frame, and move it by dragging it on the canvas.

Full-body and upper-body versions

Some Studio Avatars come in two versions: full-body and upper-body. They can have the same name and image in the avatar list, but you can't switch between them within the same avatar. If you choose Full Body for an upper-body version, you still see only the upper half. If you're not sure which version you're using, add the avatar to a scene and check.

FAQ

Why did my avatar disappear from the scene?
Check whether its framing is set to Voice Only. Click where the avatar should be and open Framing. The avatar may also be hidden behind other elements. Use the layer button above the selected element to bring it to the front.

Why don't I see Framing for my Photo Avatar?
Framing isn't available for Photo Avatars. You can still remove the background of a Photo Avatar.

Can I crop the avatar inside its frame?
No. You can change the size of the frame, but you can't crop the avatar inside it.
