What is Natural Avatar Motion?

Photo-based avatars normally animate the original image primarily through lip sync.

When Natural Avatar Motion is enabled, AI generates and analyzes the avatar’s speaking motion and adds natural movement, including:

  • Natural facial expressions and subtle movements

  • Head movements that match the flow of speech

  • More natural upper-body motion

  • More dynamic expressions by combining lip sync and motion

Natural Avatar Motion can help create more engaging results for videos where an avatar delivers a message directly, such as educational content, presentations, marketing videos, and social content.

Which avatars support Natural Avatar Motion?

Natural Avatar Motion is available for avatars that generate motion from a photo. After creating a project in AI Studios, select a photo-based avatar to enable the feature.

Some avatars, including Video Avatars that already contain their own motion, do not support Natural Avatar Motion.

How to Use Natural Avatar Motion

You can configure Natural Avatar Motion for each avatar by scene, or manage the setting when exporting your video.

Set Natural Avatar Motion by Scene

  1. Open a project in AI Studios and select a photo-based avatar.

  2. Open the avatar’s Motion options.

  3. Select Natural Motion.

  4. Enter your script and finish setting up the scene.

  5. Export the video to generate the selected avatar with natural motion applied.

You can enable or disable Natural Avatar Motion for each scene depending on the type of expression you want.

Enable Natural Avatar Motion When Exporting

Even if you did not configure Natural Avatar Motion while editing the project, you can enable it during Export.

  1. When you finish editing your project, select Export.

  2. Enable Natural Avatar Motion in the Export settings.

  3. Review the settings and generate your video.

Scenes with Natural Avatar Motion enabled are generated with more natural expressions and movement than standard lip-sync animation for photo-based avatars.

Generative Credit Usage

Generating a video with Natural Avatar Motion uses generative credits.

If multiple avatars in a project use Natural Avatar Motion, the required number of credits may vary depending on the avatars and the duration for which the feature is applied.

Check the credit information shown before exporting your video.

Tips for Better Results

Natural Avatar Motion results may vary depending on the source avatar image. For more natural results, we recommend using an image that:

  • Clearly shows the face

  • Shows the person facing forward or close to front-facing

  • Does not have the face or body heavily obscured by other objects

  • Has a natural, relaxed expression

  • Shows enough of the upper body for its shape and posture to be recognized

Images with heavily tilted poses or significantly obscured faces or bodies may produce less natural motion.

Use Natural Avatar Motion to add natural movement to avatars created from a single photo and make your AI videos more dynamic and engaging.
