You can't create an avatar of a celebrity or other public figure in AI Studios. This doc explains why, what to do if your upload is flagged by mistake, and what you can create instead.
Why you can't create a celebrity avatar
Creating an avatar of a celebrity isn't permitted for legal and ethical reasons. AI Studios follows strict policies to protect people's likeness and privacy rights.
Using a celebrity's image or voice without explicit permission can result in copyright infringement and serious legal consequences. To prevent this, AI Studios automatically detects and blocks attempts to create avatars that resemble public figures.
Privacy and rights protection: Public figures, including celebrities, have legal rights to their likeness and voice. Using their image or voice without permission violates those rights.
Ethical responsibility: AI Studios is committed to respecting individual identity and intellectual property. Creating or sharing unauthorized replicas of real people goes against these values.
Legal compliance: Impersonating celebrities or other public figures without consent can lead to serious legal consequences. This policy helps protect you from breaking the law by accident.
If your upload is flagged by mistake
The check can flag a photo or video even when the person isn't actually a celebrity, because they may look similar to one. If that happens, the upload is blocked with a message that a celebrity was detected.
If you're not trying to create an avatar of a real public figure, contact our support team. We'll review it and unblock the avatar if it's not actually a match.
What you can create instead
A Video Avatar of yourself: Record or upload a video of yourself to create an avatar that reflects your likeness.
A Photo Avatar: Upload a photo of yourself, or of a team member who has given you permission.
Ready-made avatars: Choose from the Studio Avatars and AI-Generated Avatars in the AI Avatars tab.
Note: The same goes for characters. The Photo to Avatar upload guidelines list characters that may infringe IP rights as images to avoid.
