Interactive quizzes are a powerful way to make your videos more engaging, personalized, and effective — whether you’re teaching a class, training a team, or creating a learning experience. With AI STUDIOS, adding quiz questions to your video is intuitive, and you can customize the quiz flow to match your goals.

Follow this step‑by‑step guide to add interactive quiz questions to your videos and deliver a more dynamic experience!

Step‑by‑Step: How to Add Quiz Questions

1. Choose Where to Insert the Quiz

Decide when in your video you want to ask a question.

Common placements include:

  • After a concept explanation

  • Before a transition

  • At the end as a review

Click the scene where you want your quiz to appear.

2. Add Your Quiz Question

Once you choose a Interaction in the left menu will open the Quiz panel.

  1. Add it to a scene – it will snap to the right side of the canvas.

    • Change the layout of the quiz component to either left-aligned or full layout in the left panel.

    • Specify the question type: Single Choice, Multiple Choice, or Results.

  2. Edit the question text and answers by clicking directly into the component on the canvas.

    • Add items and freely change their order with drag and drop.

    • To select the correct answer(s) for the quiz, click the radio button/checkbox on the right.

  3. Style your question in the left panel:

    • Adjust Fonts, Theme Color, and shape to match your video’s design.

    • This option applies globally to all quiz components added to the scene.

  4. Using Toggle quiz visibility option:

    • If you don't want it to interfere with editing other elements on the canvas, temporarily hide the quiz component.

3. Use logic to control flow based on various conditions

For each answer choice, you can control what happens next:

  • Answer is Correct → proceed to the next lesson

  • Answer is Incorrect → show review clip or hint

This means the video can branch dynamically based on the viewer’s choice!

If you want to configure branching of different paths based on the viewer's selection,

  • Add multiple If rules with AND/OR conditions for advanced branching.

Be careful, incorrect logic settings can disrupt the viewer's flow!

  • When using contradictory conditions simultaneously

    • A = Correct

    • If answer is A, and answer is Incorrect

    • Then go to #2, else go to #3

    • Unable to determine true or false

  • When there is no handling for false

    • If answer is A, or answer is B

    • Then go to #2, else go to Not selected

    • If C or D, branch is missed

  • When the conditions for True and False are the same

    • If answer is A and answer is B

    • Then go to #2, else go to #2

    • In any case, go to #2

4. Use practice mode as non-scorable

You can designate quiz questions as Practice Mode to give learners instant feedback without impacting their final score.

  • Enable or disable Practice Mode in the left panel.

  • Viewers can immediately Check whether their answer is correct or incorrect after answering a question in practice mode.

  • If practice mode is off, you can separately set whether or not to Exposure of correct answer.

5. Add a results screen for quizzes

To wrap up a quiz, add a Results component to any scene.

With the results component, you can:

  • Set the pass/fail criteria by entering the Passing Score.

  • Enable a Retry option:

    • Adds a Retry button to the video.

    • Viewers are taken back to the first quiz question to try again.

    • Viewers’s score will be reset and they will be asked to solve the problem again to get a new score.

6. Play interactive videos with quizzes

Interactive questions change how your video plays for viewers:

  • The quiz is covering the screen. Viewers must answer to proceed to the next page.

  • If viewers rewind the video:

    • Previously answered questions appear in their submitted state.

  • Clicking the Retry button will allow viewers to start over from the first quiz they encountered.

7. Publish or Export Your Quiz Video

Once your quiz setup is complete:

  • Share with a link

  • Export as SCORM and upload to your LMS

  • Embed on your website or learning platform

Exporting as SCORM lets you track quiz performance on LMS systems such as Moodle, SAP SuccessFactors, or Docebo.

💡 This feature is only available to Enterprise users. Previous work by users whose subscriptions have expired will be maintained, but the quiz component will be excluded when editing or exporting new work.
