What Is a Chromakey Video?
Chromakey (or green screen) is a video technique where a solid-colored background, usually green, is replaced with another image or video in post-production. It's commonly used for creating professional content with virtual sets or animated environments.
How to Create a Green Screen Video
There are two main ways to begin a chromakey/green screen video project:
Option 1: Use the Search Feature
Log into AI Studios.
On the main dashboard, locate the search bar at the top center of the page.
Type “Chromakey” into the search bar.
Under the Features dropdown, click on Chromakey Video.
This opens a new project with a default green screen background already applied.
Option 2: Start from a Blank Project
Click on New Project in the upper right corner of the AI Studios dashboard.
Select New Blank Project located at the bottom left of the template screen.
Once the canvas loads, right click on the background of the video editor.
Then click "Remove Background" in the drop down menu.
This will automatically switch your canvas to a solid green chromakey background.
Exporting and Using the Chromakey Video
When your video is ready, click Export to synthesize and download it.
The output will be a video with a solid green background.
Open the video in any post-production software like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
Apply a chromakey or keying effect to remove the green background and replace it with your custom backdrop.
Final Tips
Use consistent lighting on your AI avatar for better keying in post (if using a Custom Avatar).
Avoid adding green elements to the avatar or text, as they’ll be keyed out too.
