Using AI to generate text or scripts can save you a ton of time. But the secret to getting great results? It all starts with writing a clear, specific prompt.

Whether you’re creating social media captions, video scripts, or product descriptions, the better your prompt, the better your output.

This guide will show you how to write more effective prompts—so the AI understands exactly what you want and delivers results faster, with fewer edits.

🤔 Why Prompts Matter

AI doesn’t read your mind. It responds to the information you give it.

If your prompt is vague or unclear, the result will likely be just as generic. But if you include the right details—like format, tone, and key topics—you’ll get much more relevant content.

📍 Where to Enter Your Prompt

In AI Studios, you can access the AI Text & Script Generator in two places:

  • Inside the video script editor – click the OpenAI icon

  • Standalone tool – go to Dashboard > AI Generator > Text Generator

Once the input bar appears, just type your prompt there.

✅ How to Write a Good Prompt: Tips & Examples

1. Be Clear About What You Want

Be direct and specific about the type of content you need.

Try this:

  • "Write a 30-second video script for a skincare product launch."

  • "Create a short blog intro about remote work tips."

🚫 Avoid vague prompts like “Help me write something.”

2. Mention the Format

Let the AI know what structure you need—script, caption, blog, list, etc.

Examples:

  • "Create a list of video title ideas for YouTube Shorts about meal prep."

  • "Write a product description for a wireless headset."

3. Include the Tone or Style

Do you want the text to sound casual, formal, playful, or professional? Say so!

Examples:

  • "Write a short video script in a casual, upbeat tone for Gen Z."

  • "Create a paragraph that sounds professional and clear for a business audience."

4. Add Key Points or Topics

Give the AI the core ideas to include. Bullet points or quick phrases are fine.

Examples:

  • "Script should include: waterproof shoes, easy to clean, great for travel."

  • "Talk about: benefits of working remotely, tips for staying focused."

5. Set a Word or Time Limit

If you have a target length, include it.

Examples:

  • "Write a video script that’s about 100 words long."

  • "Keep the text short enough for a 15-second Instagram Reel."

6. Break It Into Steps (If Needed)

For longer content like full videos or blogs, generate section by section. This keeps things consistent and easier to edit.

📝 Tip: Start with the intro, then move to the body and close with a call-to-action.

💡 Example Prompts by Use Case

For product videos:
"Write a 20-second script for a smart water bottle video. Mention hydration tracking and glowing reminders. Keep it friendly and informative."

For social captions:
"Generate 3 Instagram captions for a dog grooming brand. Make them playful and include hashtags."

For blog sections:
"Write a short paragraph on the benefits of switching to a standing desk. Keep it helpful and neutral."

For translated videos:
"Translate this script into casual Korean while keeping the original meaning."

🚫 What to Avoid

❌ Too little info
“Write a script” isn’t enough. Add format, purpose, and tone.

❌ Too much in one prompt
Don’t ask for five types of content at once. Stick to one goal per prompt.

❌ Skipping tone and audience
Without audience context, you might get something off-brand or too generic.
