The aspect ratio sets the shape of your video. You can make a landscape video for the web or a portrait video for mobile, and switch between them at any time.

Change the aspect ratio

To change the aspect ratio:

  1. In the video editor, click the aspect ratio button at the top left, for example Landscape 16 : 9.

  2. Choose Landscape 16 : 9 (1920 x 1080) or Portrait 9 : 16 (1080 x 1920). The canvas changes right away.

Switching the project from Landscape 16:9 to Portrait 9:16 and back

The options do the following:

  • Landscape 16 : 9 (1920 x 1080): a horizontal video, best for web viewing.

  • Portrait 9 : 16 (1080 x 1920): a vertical video, best for mobile viewing.

Note: The aspect ratio applies to every scene in the project. Elements are not rearranged for the new shape, so check each scene and move or resize elements that are cut off.

💡 Tip: If you don't see the aspect ratio button, click an empty area outside the canvas. When an element is selected, the toolbar shows that element's options instead.
